Although full of very good pictures and a broad range of art movements and artists, I found this reference book very clumsy to navigate through when compared to Honour and Fleming’s Art History. I struggled to find artists in the bibliography, and then to find the relevant text in the page quoted about said artist. Not very user friendly for dipping in and out of when researching for artists or movements in art. Having said this, when you read it a chapter at a time, it does give a more in depth and comprehensive explanation about artists relationships and influences with each other.
KEY LEARNING POINTS
I struggled with using this book, however useful to see art influencing art.
